The Process

How The Lens Audit Works

Submit your records. Receive an independent written report. No appointment required.

01

Submit Your Clinical Records

Upload your optician report and any available scan data.

The minimum we need is your optician's report — your glasses prescription and the findings from your last eye examination.

Extra records make the review more precise: biometry (IOL Master), OCT macular scans, corneal topography (Pentacam), visual fields, and any hospital ophthalmology letters.

Not sure what you have? Contact us and we will advise. All data is uploaded through our encrypted, secure portal and stored in the UK.

02

The Consultant Reviews Your Data

An expert GMC-registered Consultant Ophthalmologist analyses your records and writes your report.

The expert Consultant Ophthalmologist reviews your biometry, corneal measurements, visual acuity, and ocular history. Every available lens option is considered against your data.

This is a desk-based review. An optional online consultation to explain your report is included in the £250 fee and available on request. Your report is typically ready within 48 hours.

In rare cases, the Consultant may request a brief call to clarify a specific detail. This only happens with your agreement.

03

Your Written Report

A clear, personalised document to bring to your surgical consultation.

You receive a written report specific to your measurements, your clinical profile, and your visual goals.

It states clearly which lens options suit your eyes, which do not, and why — with a direct recommendation.

Share it with your surgeon. Arrive at your consultation already informed.

See what your report includes

Understand what each lens could mean for driving, computer work, reading and hobbies: when you may need glasses, possible side effects, and your doctor’s advice. Your fee includes an optional online consultation, available on request, to explain the findings.

Blank report example — no patient record is displayed. The scenario explanations are general information, not personalised advice. Your actual report is prepared from your records, reviewed by the doctor and sent only after manual approval.

The preview contains all three sections; scroll inside it to read each one. Longer individual reports may use extra pages.

Clinical framework: ESCRS cataract recommendations. Remote consultations follow GMC guidance. Lens model suitability requires individual assessment.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need a surgery date booked first?

No. Many patients come to us before choosing a surgeon. The earlier you seek an independent review, the more options remain open.

Can I use The Lens Audit after a surgical consultation?

Yes. A second opinion is always valuable — provided surgery has not yet taken place.

How is this different from seeing my optometrist?

Your optometrist provides essential examination findings and ongoing eye care. Our consultant review complements that work with a focused discussion of intraocular lens options and their trade-offs.

Will The Lens Audit recommend a surgeon or clinic?

No. We help you understand your lens options. We do not direct your surgical care. That independence is fundamental to what we do.
